Santa Clara County is a richly diverse county in the San Francisco Bay Area. Located just south of San Mateo County, Santa Clara County is at the base of the bay. Click a link view more detailed information and statistics about each area. Have fun!

Campbell
Description: Campbell is a well-kept, active, middle class town. The downtown has been upgraded and consists of many small boutiques, coffee shops, restaurants, and cafes. The people take good care of their properties, many of which are older homes that were built in the 1950's and 1960's. There are 8 parks, one of which is the 32-acre John D. Morgan Park. There is also a community center and the Los Gatos Creek Trail, which is adjacent to Campbell Park and is great for bikers, walkers, and runners.

Cupertino
Description: Cupertino has some of the highest-ranking, most tech-savvy schools in the valley. Homes, which tend to be priced high like the rest of the county, are primarily nice, medium-sized residences. In the summer, residents take part in the Cupertino Art and Wine Festival and enjoy the events at Shakespeare in the Park.

Gilroy
Description: Gilroy, the "Garlic Capital of the World," hosts it's annual Garlic Festival in July. In addition to this claim to fame, it has award-winning parks, a beautiful golf course, and recreation programs. Located at the base of Santa Clara County, Gilroy is driving distance to Monterey Bay, Santa Cruz, the San Joaquin Valley, and the San Francisco Bay Area. Homes in Gilroy range from modest, small and medium-sized homes to new, large, million dollar homes which are nestled in the hills. Beautiful development projects continue to build out the area.
Highway 101, leading down from the Silicon Valley, has been expanded which dramatically improves the commute across Coyote Valley.

Los Altos
Description: Los Altos is one of the premium locations in Santa Clara County. It has some of the best schools in the state, and it also has some of the most expensive homes! Shopping areas are darling, with boutiques, restaurants, and galleries, all shaded by the trees that line the streets.

Los Altos Hills
Description: Los Altos Hills, aptly named for its beautiful rolling hills, has some of the most expensive homes and property in the county. There is a one-acre lot minimum, which maintains the large, open-spaced feeling you get there. The town is especially proud of its trail system, which meanders for over 75 miles through the hills and forests and provides recreation for bicyclists, walkers, runners, and equestrians.

Description: The town of Los Gatos sits South of Saratoga, Monte Sereno, and Campbell. Like those areas, home prices are high. The downtown area is picturesque, with nice shops and restaurants. You'll find farmers markets, parks and trails, and beautiful properties.

Milpitas
Description: Milpitas grew tremendously during the technology boom. As a result, the city now benefits from dozens of parks, playgrounds, and recreation facilities which its relatively young population enjoys thoroughly.

Description: Monte Sereno primarily consists of family residences, all of which are on large lots. Development is strictly regulated and residents tend to drive a few minutes to the neighboring towns to do their shopping and dining because Monte Sereno is so small and is almost entirely residential. The neighborhoods are beautiful and the homes tend to sell quickly when they go on the market.

Morgan Hill
Description: If you own horses, Morgan Hill may be the place to settle down. There are beautiful horse ranches, and lots of land and trails. Morgan Hill is just North of Gilroy. The community is close and friendly, with activities such as Family Bedtime Stories at the library and the annual "Mushroom Mari Gras."

Mountain View
Description: Mountain View is a young, vibrant city with a newly renovated downtown and dozens of restaurants. The city also boasts the Shoreline-at-Mountain View park, which has an 18-hole golf course on San Francisco Bay and a sailing lake where you can rent paddle-boats or sail boats. The park is popular with families, who take their kids there for kite-flying and picnics along the lake.

Palo Alto
Description: A beautiful city, Palo Alto is home to Stanford University, tree-lined streets, boutique shopping and galleries. About 25% of the city is made up of parks, keeping it very green and family-friendly. The North section of the city, near University Avenue, is prestigious, with expensive homes. The southern regions of the city have more modestly priced single family homes and condos.

San Jose
Description: San Jose is a huge, widely diverse city. Homes vary in range from less-expensive condos, to middle class single family homes, to million dollar mansions and resort estates, depending on the neighborhood. San Jose has a beautiful performing arts center, as well as an interactive technology museum and a museum of fine arts, to name a few. You can go to a wide variety of restaurants and pubs, and the shopping has dramatically improved in the last couple years. Valley Fair Mall has had a makeover and now includes many high-end shops and restaurants, and the new Santana Row (which seems as big as a small town itself) is stunning and houses designer apartments and lofts and boasts dozens of high end shops.

Santa Clara
Description: Home to Santa Clara University and Mission College, Santa Clara has a wide selection of both primary residences and tenant-occupied properties. There is a beautiful community center, with a range of fun activities and classes during the summer months and year-round. The Southern border of the city is the shopping district, with the recently revamped Valley Fair mall and the new Santana Row complex which is just across Steven's Creek Blvd. Great America Theme Park is in the Northern area of the city, and the San Jose Airport is just to the East.

Saratoga
Description: Saratoga sits on the edge of the valley, up against the Santa Cruz hills, and is a small, expensive, family-oriented community. The restaurants and shops are excellent, and the schools rank high. The location is wonderful because there is easy access to both work in the Silicon Valley, as well as to Santa Cruz and its beaches. The city is also very proud of its recreational events and facilities.

Description: Sunnyvale is the second most populated city in Santa Clara County. The homes are reasonably priced, and there is a lot to do. They have two golf courses, 17 parks, 68 tennis courts, various other sports fields, a community center, theater, and much more.
